Muslim Identity and Social Change in Sub-Saharan Africa

The central themes of this work are the transformation of Muslim societies and the politicization of Islam which have resulted from the efforts of Muslim to assert themselves, as Muslims, in the increasingly intense competition for power and the control of economic resources in modern Africa.
